Important Reminder - ECF becomes mandatory as of January 2, 2009
Effective January 2, 2009, use of the CM/ECF system will be mandatory for all attorneys and all court reporters filing in this Court, unless they are granted an exemption from using the CM/ECF system. Use of the CM/ECF system is voluntary for all pro se parties proceeding without counsel.

In-Person Training for Appellate Electronic Case Filing will be offered every Tuesday at 12 noon and 1 PM starting on November 25, 2008 at San Francisco's James R. Browning Courthouse. Other training sessions will offered in Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere around the circuit. Details
IMPORTANT HOLIDAY NOTICE
The public filing windows of the Clerk's offices in San Francisco, Pasadena and Seattle will be closed on Friday, December 26, 2008 and Friday, January 2, 2009. Please note neither of these days is a "legal holiday" as defined by Fed. R. App. P. 26(a)(4). If you have a pleading due to be filed on either of these days by statute, rule or court order, or if you have an emergency filing requiring same day or next day action, please contact the Court at (415) 355-8020 and staff will assist you with the filing. Electronic Filing (ECF) will be available as usual.
Judicial Council of the Second Circuit Announcement For Bankruptcy Judgeship
The Second Circuit Judicial Council invites application from highly-qualified candidates for a Bankruptcy Judge position in the Southern District of New York. The person selected will maintain chambers in New York, New York. The selection process will be confidential and competitive. Applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, age, gender, religion, ethnicity, national origin or disability.

Ninth Circuit Seeks Candidates for Appellate Lawyer Representatives
The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit is seeking applicants from among the federal appellate bar to serve as Appellate Lawyer Representatives to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference. Those selected will serve three-year terms, during which they will participate in meetings throughout the circuit, coordinate activities with District Lawyer Representatives, and attend and participate in the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference, an annual gathering of federal judges, attorneys, agency representatives and court staff.
